Supporting Digital Education with Hacker School

Supporting Digital Education with Hacker School

At GANADORA Foundation, the belief is clear: every woman and girl deserves the chance to be the winner of her own life. From that vision flows the decision to support education, leadership and opportunities for women — and this support extends to digital education for all young people.

Why work with Hacker School?

Hacker School is a non-profit organisation focused on enabling children and adolescents to learn programming, to understand and shape the digital world rather than just use it. They run formats like “@yourschool”, “Girls Hacker School”, and “Hacker School PLUS” (for socially disadvantaged youth) to lower barriers to entry.

GANADORA’s decision to support Hacker School aligns well: it brings access, skills and future-orientation to young people (including girls) in the digital space. According to the GANADORA profile on bcause, the Foundation allocated €4,225 to Hacker School.

What the support means in practice

Thanks to contributions from GANADORA and other partners, Hacker School can:

  • Expand its digital education offerings to more schools and regions.

  • Offer dedicated courses for girls (Girls Hacker School) and for youth from disadvantaged backgrounds (Hacker School PLUS).

  • Foster skills not just in using technology, but in understanding and creating it — helping young people participate in shaping their futures.

Why this matters

  • Digital skills are increasingly important for work, for society, and for personal agency.

  • By investing in programmes that specifically include girls and under-represented youth, GANADORA helps reduce inequality of opportunity.

  • The ripple effects: when young people gain skills and confidence, they are more likely to pursue opportunities, further education or careers that were previously closed to them.

A look ahead

With the support from GANADORA and others, Hacker School is well-placed to scale its reach — to more schools, more regions, more young people. The challenge is always to maintain quality, engagement and relevance as programmes grow. For donors and supporters, continuing to engage, share results and advocate for digital education is key.

In short: GANADORA’s support for Hacker School is a meaningful investment in digital inclusion, educational equity and future-readiness — especially for young women and girls who might otherwise be left behind.
